Since 2018, SeeBeyondBorders has organised bilateral Connect visits between Cambodia and Ireland to share knowledge, practice, and ideas among educators, researchers, policymakers, and officials.
In 2025, four SBB Cambodia staff visited Ireland to set the agenda for future mutual learning. As part of this program, Mary Immaculate College hosted a one-hour symposium in Limerick, bringing together representatives from SeeBeyondBorders, Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC), Mary Immaculate College, Maynooth University, and the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation, as well as educators and stakeholders committed to inclusion and social justice in education. The symposium provided a platform to showcase the EPIC Alliance (Enhancing Pedagogy in Cambodia) and to share insights on innovative, collaborative approaches to improving primary education in Cambodia.
A key outcome of the event was the strengthening of institutional relationships between Cambodian and Irish partners, reinforcing shared commitments to pedagogical development, teacher education, and long-term collaboration. The symposium also increased visibility of the EPIC Alliance within the Irish education sector and generated interest in future joint activities and exchanges.
